TEACHING YOUNG LEARNERS – COMBINING CREATIVITY, LEARNING AND FUN Teachers of young learners know how to motivate children. Hence, the teaching of chants, rhymes, songs and stories is part of their daily routine. In this session, we’ll go a step further – we will discuss what songs, chants, stories and rhymes are the best. We will also look at the cognitive, social and psychological development of the child and discuss new concepts and ideas that help to maximise the output of our lessons while making the time our students spend in their English class more creative, meaningful and fun. Presenter: Herbert Puchta co-authored a number of course books for the teaching of English as a foreign language (among them Playway to English, Join Us for English, More! and English in Mind published by Cambridge University Press), as well as articles and resource books. His latest resource books are Teaching Grammar Creatively, Multiple Intelligences in EFL and Imagine That!
