Практическая цель: активизировать знания, умения и навыки учащихся по изученной теме.
Образовательная цель: развивать кругозор учащихся, повышать интерес к изучению иностранного языка, давая информацию о традициях, праздниках, достопримечательностях и известных людях страны изучаемого языка.
Воспитательная цель: создать возможность для проявления индивидуальных художественных способностей учащихся.
Оформление: открытки в форме сердец , воздушные шары, свечи, цветы на столе.

Teacher: Dear friends! Ladies and gentlemen! You are welcome to our party dedicated to St. Valentine’s Day, which is always held on February 14th and brings us happiness and good luck .St .Valentine is one of the popular holidays in Europe and America .This religious holiday is also celebrated in Great Britain .It is the day when boys and girl, sweethearts and lovers , husbands and wives ,friends and neighbors exchange greetings of affection , undying love or satirical comment .
St Valentine’s Day ,February 14 ,has been a day for choosing sweethearts and exchanging love-tokens from time immemorial .The method of choosing sweethearts on St. Valentine’s Day varied in different times and places .It could be a serious matter ,leading to a marriage ,or it could be a kind of game .So one famous man said :’’Love is life and if you miss love ,you miss life .’’
So I hope that today you won’t miss anything and you’ll enjoy the holiday! Wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day!
I. Игра «Валентин и Валентина»Учитель обходит девочек. Каждая девочка бросает ему в коробку записку со своим именем, мальчики опускают в другую коробку записки со своими именами. После того как записки собраны, учитель достает по одной записке и объявляет имена. Названные мальчик и девочка садятся вместе.
2. Активизация страноведческой информации об истории данного праздника.

6. T: Someone is knocking at our door.Входит святой Валентин (ученик 7-го класса в костюме). Он поздравляет детей с праздником и проводит викторину: "What do you know about St.Valentine’s Day?"1. Who was the Valentine who lived three hundred years after the death of Jesus Christ in the Roman empire? (A Christ priest).2. What did he do the night before he was executed?3. What holiday did people celebrate in Rome many years ago? (a Roman holiday, held in honour of the Goddess of Love).4. What is St.Valentine’s Day now? (It is a day for sweethearts).5. 7. Teacher: I am sure all of you want to know what happens with you in future, when you’ll meet your sweetheart and may be who is he (she). And I’ve brought you a present. It’s a fortune tree. Have a look! (На дереве судьбы сердечки из бумаги с предсказаниями). Come here and you will know your fortunes. (Ребята подходят, обрезают сердечки и читают предсказания).
8. В конце мероприятия учитель благодарит детей за активное участие, подводит итоги и прощается с детьми.
Teacher: Love! Happiness! Beauty! There are not so many days in a year when we pronounce these pleasant words. But today we took part in party-games ad practiced the use of some pleasant words ad expressions on this special occasion. Happy St. Valentine’s Day!
